Managing director
In September 2019, I (Hannes de Vries) started my own agency De Vries Artists.
I enjoy working for creative people, because I know that with this experience we can make beautiful plans come to fruition. In addition, I am service-oriented, well-intentioned, critical and constructive with a pinch of my own input and help to sell this to the rest of the world. That goes through the agency, which consists of a select group of artists, for which I make an effort.
I represent conductors and musicians with my company De Vries Artists and my portfolio has grown and with an exciting selection of artists. My passion is to get the right musician on the right stage and to enter into fantastic collaborations with halls, orchestras and artists. High quality in service and communication between all parties is paramount. Thanks to the experience of (board)membership of the IAMA (Board of Directors in the years 2012-2018 and again from 2021 – ) and as director of the Foundation for ‘Promotion Classical Music’ (which includes the kamermuziekdag.nl), I know how to reach both the national and the international playing field.

In September 2024, I (Mischa Schouw) joined the agency De Vries Artists as a partner.

In November 2024 I did join the agency De Vries Artists, combining my passion for music with my dedication to artist management.
Music has always been at the heart of what I do — both as a profession and a personal calling. My goal is to provide our artists with the support they need to thrive, ensuring they can focus on what they do best: making extraordinary music. Through thoughtful management and streamlined administration, I strive to create an environment where artistry can flourish.
As a professional bassoonist, I understand the unique needs of musicians and bring a personal, hands-on approach to my work. I’m always open to meaningful connections and collaborations — whether to explore new opportunities or to support the incredible talent we represent.

Our sustainability efforts
In order to be aware of the environment we always consider either we attend or not attend a concert by one of our artists.
Sometimes it is absolutely necessary, or just necessary to be nearby our artists. We show you how many concerts we were able to attend (or not). And which our main means of transport have been and how much trees we planted to compensate for our travels.
We donate the collected trees to Eden Reforestation Projects! see here for more of their projects.
We start counting per cultural season. From September 2023 onwards and refresh the status at the end of each month. Latest update (31/12/24).
The last seasons (22/23 and 23/24) we were able to ‘collect’ in total 455 trees through our travels for 123 concerts across Europe DVA attended. You see the total here below for the ongoing season of 2024/2025.
